The seller application is available! Before you jump in, please read the Tips, Tricks, and Policies below.

Tips, Tricks, and Policies

Space

  • You are provided one 8-foot table and two chairs.
  • All items must be contained within your space.
  • Please be mindful of the other sellers and their items around you.
  • You are not permitted to hang, tape, staple, or tack anything to the walls.
  • It is highly encouraged to bring table coverings to make your display more visually appealing.
  • Please leave your space as you found it. All items including packaging materials must go home with you.

Transactions

  • It will be highly encouraged that patrons bring cash. Though if you have the means to take other payment methods, you are responsible for providing the technology and accepting all applicable fees.
  • We are not responsible for any bad checks or declined card transactions.

Items

  • Take good pictures of some of the items for sale. When you register, you will be able to submit pictures that we will use for marketing.
  • Please make sure your items are not dirty, stained, damaged or broken.
  • Mark prices on each item clearly. Or create a “menu” list of items and prices to display.
  • Bring pictures of your items in action, especially if there are multiples of one item. This helps potential buyers visualize the bigger picture. (Extra inventory may be stashed under your table.)
  • Be creative and display your items in an attractive way. Stagger items according to height.

What to Bring

  • A cart for loading and unloading
  • Change including $10’s, $5’s and $1’s.
  • Shopping bags (repurposed grocery bags work), boxes, and wrapping material for fragile items.
  • Post-its, a notepad, pens, tape measure, extra pricing stickers, sharpies, markers, hangers and tape can all come in handy in a pinch.

Sell It!

Don’t just sit there! Engage with the buyer and talk up your items. Talk about the inspiration behind them, how you used them or how you made them. Share the story behind your items. Smile and have fun!

Pricing

To sell your items successfully – you have to price appropriately – and price them to move quickly. Pricing near, at, or even above retail (people have tried!) will affect your sales.

At retail stores, shoppers have access to clearance prices, customer service, and return policies. This is not a retail store or a craft sale. Shoppers will not pay retail prices at a resale. They are looking for savings.

Don’t. Charge Too. Much. That has been an ongoing complaint from past event surveys. If you were a previous buyer, I am sure you saw some inflated pricing, too.

  • Research pricing ahead of time. Your customers already have.
  • Even though things were only “used for a few hours,” it’s still considered used. Even new/unused items automatically depreciate. You should not be charging retail price.
  • Offering 40% off the retail cost is often a good starting point.
  • Consider offering package deals for your items. You could sell very quickly and the shopper will have their wedding décor all in one shot!
  • Be willing to negotiate.
  • If it’s getting late in the event, consider cutting the prices down further.
